(Press Release: 10/20/20) SCRT...A New Direction SCRT, along with many other organizations hit hard by this year's events, has had to rethink how to do business in order to survive. During the past several months, the SCRT Board has been laying the groundwork to move in a new direction and to focus on community theatre rather than repertory theatre. With seating space greatly reduced at this point in time, this makes the most sense to help make all events affordable for the theatre as well as attendees. More SCRT Updates! 10/19/2020 Dear SCRT patrons, We are excited to announce that SCRT will continue to move forward as a creative outlet for our city. The state of our city and country forced us to make some changes to move forward, but we are committed to moving ahead and keeping our doors open. We have decided that the community theatre side of our business can and will remain intact, but the repertory side will be on hold indefinitely. This is purely a cost-driven decision. Even with the restrictions on the number of attendees allowed at our events, we will again be producing plays beginning this holiday season and continuing through next year. SCRT Updates! To Our Community Friends and Neighbors: Hello! Since you have not heard from us for quite a while, we thought it was time to give you an update. Shortly after we suspended our performances in March, the SCRT Board of Directors formed a special committee to address operational concerns until we can restart our season. Though we are without an executive director for the time being, we are moving forward with plans for the Fall and beyond. The Committee is working diligently and meets on a weekly basis to keep SCRT alive and to prepare for reopening our doors.
