Originally from Oklahoma, Gloria and husband Mike have lived in New Mexico and then Denver for over 30 years. Gloria worked as a business analyst in the computer manufacturing industry for Storage Technology Corp. and Sun Microsystems. After moving to Trinidad in 2009, she was thrilled to find live theatre in the community and is now determined to keep the experience available for others. Over the past six years Gloria has volunteered her time and energy to the marketing committee, fundraisers, financial reporting, and previously as Board Secretary.
Vice President & Marketing
An art major and a graduate from the Art Institute of Houston, Kirk honed his skills and began his own strategic marketing firm 21 years ago, working with small clients and Fortune 500 companies as well. He developed successful marketing and advertising campaigns that not only were creative, but increased revenue for his clients, and his work has generated multiple awards in the advertising industry. Using his video expertise, Kirk has written and directed three full length motion pictures, each film winning numerous awards and are available on most streaming platforms. That expertise and his marketing experience create a perfect fit for Main Street LIVE.
Sharon moved to Trinidad from Houston, TX in 2011 and was delighted to discover live theatre in Trinidad. She and her husband have been avid supporters of SCRT. Before retiring in 2016, she worked as a business analyst on a variety of e-commerce and web portal projects (translation: she is a “techie”). Those analytical skills serve her well as a member of the SCRT Board. As the President of the Trinidad Music Association, she serves as a liaison between SCRT and the TMA. Recently she has taken on the responsibility of managing the snack bar for the theatre.
Barbara was a Choreographer and featured dancer/singer in musical theatre productions in her native Fort Worth, Texas. She has trained with the Memphis Preparatory Ballet, Margo Dean School of Dance, Creative Arts Theatre School, Schaffenburg Ballet Academy and Bruce Lea’s Dance Factory. In Trinidad, Barbara has acted with both the Trinidad Community Theatre and the SCRT Professional company and has taught ballet through Dance Connection. With a background in accounting and financial planning, Barbara serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors.
Born and raised in Illinois, just outside the metropolis of Chicago, Anita Flores joins Main Street LIVE's efforts in continuing to provide an open stage for Community Theater. Her former accomplishments include creating a successful startup consignment boutique, co-managing two locations of a popular breakfast restaurant, as well as reorganizing and managing a 75-year-old high-traffic destination ice cream parlor. With over 20 years of cake decorating experience she has performed hundreds of consultations for wedding and special event cakes as well as event coordinating. She is an accomplished professional with a unique skill set and experience across a diverse range of business development and management settings. Anita and her husband Adrian enjoy playing with their five dogs: El Guapo, Jefe, Lady, Conchita and Sheba.
A Missouri native, Randy started acting at the University of Central Missouri while earning a degree in Journalism. He worked in production support at NBC-Burbank and Paramount Pictures. After a stretch in the Air Force in South Korea, he returned to Seoul to teach ESL for 25 years. In Korea, he participated in all aspects of community theatre as a volunteer actor, appearing in many shows at the US Army garrison in Seoul. He completed a Masters in Education from Troy University. He performed the music of Neil Diamond in his band, Diamond Randy Reno.
Trinidad's community theatre program was a major reason why Randy moved to Trinidad after retiring from teaching in 2018. He has acted in several local productions. He also volunteers his time delivering meals prepared by the Sayre Senior Center to the home-bound in Trinidad.
A native of Trinidad, CO and a graduate of Trinidad High School, Linda went to college for classes in Small Business and Arts Associate degrees. She has been a member of the Confederacion Mutualista Mexicana and Hispanic Americana for 14 years, and now serves on the Board as Vice President. For 12 years Linda has been doing fundraisers for the Confederacion (La Casa), local people, and also the SCRT. “ I love helping anyone in need, and now I am on the SCRT Board participating on the fundraising committee. The Theatre and the people I work with are all awesome."
Christopher Smith, Ph.D.
The most recent addition to the Main Street LIVE board, Chris Smith brings an impressive set of qualifications to his role as our liaison to Trinidad State Junior College. He has an MFA, an M.Ed, and a PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies. He is interested in the arts, education, music, and how intentional (and these days, imagined!) organizations and businesses can, through a collaborative focus on the humanities, nurture and sustain creative communities. Chris is a professor at Trinidad State in the Humanities and Theater departments, and serves as Project Manager at the Fox West Theatre of Trinidad, CO. Chris is active in many Trinidad community organizations including Noah's Ark Animal Welfare Association, the Historic Preservation Commission, the Corazon de Trinidad Creative District, and Trinidad Music Association.
Harriet has 50 years of experience in theatre as a Director, Choreographer, Actor, Writer, and grant writer. Resides in Las Animas County.
Fred has worked for over 50 years as a Lighting Designer, Scenic Designer, Technical Director, Actor and Director. He has three degrees in the performing arts, a degree from The Pasadena Playhouse School for the Performing Arts, a B.A. from Cal State Fullerton and an MFA from Wayne State University where he acted with the prestigious Hilberry Repertory Company. Fred works year-round promoting the reputation of SCRT in the national theater community, especially through his efforts with the United Professional Theatre Association.
Advisor & Alumni
Stan graduated from University of Wisconsin with a degree in Economics and served as a military Logistics Officer from 1970-1978. His financial career includes Financial Advisor, Registered Investment Advisor, and Certified Financial Planner from 1978-2014 and he continues as a Financial Consultant. Stan plays a major role in the success of SCRT.
Brad Askew’s forte is in sales and marketing business development. He is a professional actor and has acted in both SCRT Professional and Resident Company shows. Brad has filled many roles with SCRT: Executive Director, fundraising, grant liaison and marketing.
