Gloria Hall - Board President

Originally from Oklahoma, Gloria and husband Mike have lived in New Mexico and then Denver for over 30 years.  Gloria worked as a business analysis in the manufacturing industry, most recently for Storage Technology Corp.  Among Gloria’s many local activities, she is thrilled to find live theatre in Trinidad and is determined to keep that dream alive.  To this end, Gloria heads up the Marketing Committee.

Ernie Parker - Board Vice President & Facebook editor

Ernie has been a resident of Trinidad since 2007 and a patron of SCRT since its second season.  During his tour of duty in the US Navy, he was an electronics technician.  After separation, he spent his entire career in the computer industry, with the last 17 years spent at Compaq/HP.  Extra-curricular activities include SCUBA diving, bicycling, hot-air ballooning, woodworking and astronomy (he doesn’t ever expect to be bored!).  He is a member of the Marketing Committee, Board Vice President, and uses his computer skills to maintain the TCT Facebook Page.

Kris Miller - Board Co-president

Kris has sustained a 40-year career in the entertainment industry. After several appearances on stage as an actor in the early 70’s, he focused his talents on the management side of show business.  

Kris was a Personal Talent Manager and Booking Agent in Dallas, Texas from 1978 – 1985 working as an Independent and by contract with The Allen Agency and Cabaret Attractions. 

His path continued onward as the manager of The Amarillo Civic Center and The Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts in Amarillo, Texas from 1986 – 2009. During his 23 years of service to the City of Amarillo he produced over 300 shows, concerts and events.

Kris was appointed Executive Director of the Texas Panhandle Heritage Foundation, the non-profit organization that produces TEXAS in 2011 and retired in 2016.   

In 2017 he moved to Trinidad and has joined SCRT. He serves as Director of Trinidad Community Theatre.

Barbara Privitt - Treasurer and Games Manager

Barbara was a Choreographer and featured Dancer/singer in musical theatre productions in her native Fort Worth, Texas. She trained with the Memphis Preparatory Ballet, Margo Dean School of Dance, Creative Arts Theatre School, Schaffenburg Ballet Academy and Bruce Lea’s Dance Factory. In Trinidad, Barbara has acted with both the Trinidad Community Theatre and the SCRT Professional company and has taught ballet through Dance Connection.  With a background in accounting, Barbara also serves on the Fundraising Committee and as the Board of Director’s Raffle Games Manager.

Sharon Sorenson - Secretary

Sharon moved to Trinidad from Houston, TX in 2011 and was delighted to discover live theatre in Trinidad. She and her husband have been avid supporters of SCRT. Before retiring in 2016, she worked as a business analyst on a variety of e-commerce and web portal projects (translation: she is a “techie”). Those analytical skills serve her well as a member of the SCRT Board. As the President of the Trinidad Music Association, she serves as a liaison between SCRT and the TMA. Recently she has taken on the responsibility of managing the snack bar for the theatre.

Mark Macaluso - Community liaison

Mark is an educator having taught at the Trinidad schools for more than 30 years. He also taught at Kim and Branson schools. An avid golfer, Mark is a Board of Director for the Trinidad Community Golf Association. Mark and his family are avid event and special project volunteers for the Southern Colorado Repertory Theatre.

Linda Velasquez - Fundraising Coordinator

​A native of Trinidad, CO and a graduate of Trinidad High School, Linda went to college for classes in Small Business and Arts Associate degrees.  She has been a member of the Confederacion Mutualista Mexicana and Hispanic Americana for 14 years, and now serves on the Board as Vice President.  For 12 years Linda has been doing fundraisers for the Confederacion (La Casa), local people, and also the SCRT. “ I love helping anyone in need, and now I am on the SCRT Board participating on the fundraising committee.  The Theatre and the people I work with are all awesome."

Dr. Evert Brown - Trinidad State Junior College Liaison

Dr. Brown is the Dean of Instruction at Trinidad State Junior College. He has spent most
of his career in the educational field with an emphasis on science and organizational development. He
received a Master of Science in Biology from Austin State University and a Doctor’s of Biology from
Idaho State University. Among many experiences, Dr. Brown was Executive Director of the Casper
Mountain Science School, State Coordinator of Wyoming Project WET, and the recipient of Higher
Education Educator of the Year from North American Association for Environmental Education, STEM
Educator of the Year from Wyoming Department of Education, and Audubon Educator of the Year from
Murie Chapter of Audubon.

Jim Blecha - Business Advisor

Jim, a Colorado resident since 1959, moved to Trinidad from the metro Denver area in 2013. He and his wife Mally, have enjoyed SCRT since their summer visits in 2009. Jim earned Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Regis College in Denver, developed a passion for photography while spending a year in Vienna, Austria and became a fine art photographer after graduation. His experience in publishing, advertising sales and B2B marketing have served him well during his last 27 years as a freelance photographer specializing in the oil and gas industry. In addition to travel, his leisure time is spent fishing, training bird dogs, hunting and shooting sporting clays.

Harriet Vaugeois - Director Emerita

Harriet has 50 years of experience in theatre as a Director, Choreographer, Actor, Writer, and grant writer.  Resides in Las Animas County.

Fred Vaugeois - Director Emeritus

​Fred has worked for over 50 years as a Lighting Designer, Scenic Designer, Technical Director, Actor and Director. He has three degrees in the performing arts, a degree from The Pasadena Playhouse School for the Performing Arts, a B.A. from Cal State Fullerton and an MFA from Wayne State University where he acted with the prestigious Hilberry Repertory Company. Fred works year-round promoting the reputation of SCRT in the national theater community, especially through his efforts with the United Professional Theatre Association.

Dr. George Hagen - Advisor & Alumni

Dr. Hagen moved from Brighton, Colorado to Trinidad in 1975 where he established the Family Vision Center. In Brighton, he was president of the Brighton Kiwanis Club, member of the Denver Area Wide Health Council, American Optometric Association, Colorado Optometric Association, and received the association’s “Colorado Young Optometrist of the Year” award. Dr. Hagen is in active practice, and active in our community. He was president of the Trinidad Red Cross, Chamber of Commerce, Trinidad/Las Animas County Legislative Forum, Trinidad State Jr. College President’s Advisory Council, TSJC’s Louden/Henritze Archaeology Museum, and member of the University of Colorado President’s Business Advisory Council. He is a member and Paul Harris Fellow of the Trinidad Rotary Club, and served as President and Assistant District Governor, member of Zion’s Lutheran Church Council, and life member of the Trinidad Historical Society.  Dr. Hagen led humanitarian eye care missions to Mexico, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua.  He loves live theater and traveled to England many times to attend “World Class Theater” in London’s West End. Dr. Hagen attests, “Trinidad is especially blessed to have SCRT. It enriches our culture and quality of life where we can enjoy theatre that rivals London’s best…and the best part…no need to cross the Atlantic to do so!”.

Lisa Camarillo - Advisor & Alumni

Lisa is the owner and proprietor of Hot Yoga on Main and also the manager at Phil Long Toyota, both based in Trinidad, Colorado.

Stan Obrey - Advisor & Alumni

Stan graduated from University of Wisconsin with a degree in Economics and served as a military Logistics Officer from 1970-1978.  His financial career includes Financial Advisor, Registered Investment Advisor, and Certified Financial Planner from 1978-2014 and he continues as a Financial Consultant.  Stan plays a major role in the success of SCRT.

Brad Askew - Advisor & Alumni

Brad Askew’s forte is in sales and marketing business development. He is a professional actor and has acted in both SCRT Professional and Resident Company shows. Brad has filled many roles with SCRT: Executive Director, fundraising, grant liaison and marketing.
